Ate's Bows ("we," "us," or "our") is a small handmade accessories business run by two sisters in Texas and Maryland. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through www.atesbows.com (the "Site"), how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you join our waitlist, we collect your email address and, if you choose to share it, your first name. If you contact us, we collect whatever you include in your message. When our shop opens, we will also collect the information needed to fill your order, such as your name, shipping and billing address, email, phone number (optional), and order details.
Payment information. Payments will be processed by our e-commerce and payment provider (Shopify). We do not see or store your full card number.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information when you visit, such as your browser type, device type, pages viewed, and approximate location based on IP address. We use this to keep the Site running, secure, and working well.
How we use your information
- To send you launch news, product updates, and occasional offers if you joined our waitlist or email list
- To process, ship, and support your orders
- To respond to your questions and custom order requests
- To keep the Site secure and prevent fraud or spam
- To comply with legal obligations, such as tax and accounting records
We only collect what we reasonably need for these purposes.
How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising. We share it only with service providers who help us run the business, such as our website hosting and database providers, our e-commerce and payment provider, our email service, and shipping carriers. They may use it only to provide services to us. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
Emails and unsubscribing
Every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link. You can also email us at hello@atesbows.com to be removed. Even after you unsubscribe, we may still send emails about orders you've placed.
Cookies
The Site uses only the cookies and similar technologies needed for it to function. If we add analytics or advertising tools in the future, we will update this policy and provide any required choices.
Children's privacy
The Site and our products are intended for teens and adults ages 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
How long we keep information
We keep waitlist and email list information until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. We keep order records as long as needed for taxes, accounting, and customer support.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we have about you, or to stop sending you marketing emails. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws. To make a request, email hello@atesbows.com. We will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and limit access to it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll post the new version here with an updated date.
